NOT GOOD, FOOD POOR AND EXPENSIVE DRINKS EXPENSIVE

IT IS PART OF A GROUP (LA MIRADA; SOTOGRANDE; VISTA MAR) THE RESTAURANT IN VISTA MAR IS MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE THAN SOTOGRANDE.
IT IS A CAPTIVE AUDIENCE DRINKS TOO EXOPENSIVE,#.
GETTING A TAXI IS VERY PROBLEMATIC 5 TAXIS REFUSED TO GO BY METER AND ASKED EXHORBITANT FEES.
IT IS TOO FAR FROM ANY WHERE.
THE BEACH IS SANDY AND VERY SMALL AND VERY SMELLY IN PARTS, ALSO THE UNFINISHED CONCRETE EDIFACES BY THE BEACH ARE VERY OFF-PUTTING.
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS GROUP OF HOTELS FAR BETTER TO STAY IN TOWN.
LASTLY THE TAXI COULD NOT FIND THE HOTEL, I PHONED THE NUMBER BUT THEY WOULD NOT ANSWER. I HAD TO GET THE TAXI TO TAKE ME TO THE AIRPORT AND I ENQUIRED THERE ABOUT THE LOCATION, THEN TOOK ANOTHER TAXI!

This was the 5th or 6th time I stayed here. This time I didn't find cockroaches like last time. But there are still a number of things that can be improved. The balcony door cannot be locked. It is always like that. That must be some security concern! The breakfast is weak. If only the quality of food could match the friendliness of the staff. There is no wifi (that works). The cable channels are quite limited. The location makes calling a cab necessary which takes at least 10 - 15 minutes (plus 50 pesos extra). If only the hotel could offer shuttle service to the main road Maribago, that would help much.

We stayed for 2 night, the 1st night was nice and fun except for the 2nd night when one of the condominium owners was drunk and went to the swimming pool area and had a fight with the pool attendant, that made me feel unsafe for the kids...

This was probably the 4th or 5th time we stayed in La Mirada. We continued to book the hotel because of its friendly price and no frill amenities. Usually the rooms are big and clean and that's what we need. But this time, we were surprised to find cockroaches in the room. They were not big, but there were quite a few. I probably killed 1/2 dozen - and I didn't stay in the room for much time other than sleeping!
This must be immediately taken care of.
Other wise, the stay was okay. We didn't expect much, just clean bed, hot water, working air-con, and TV. Except for the roaches, we think we got what we bargained for.
I have booked another trip this month. If I still find unwelcome company, I won't book the next trip here.

Wonderful place for quiet retreat
Beautiful sea view. Nice beach and house reef for snorkeling. Easy access to Olango Island by public boat.

We had a great time as a couple away from the crowds. The sea view was wonderful from our room, and we could see Olango Island across the sea. The room was very spacious and comfortable, except that the aircon was poorly positioned. The public boat to Olango Island from the nearby wharf cost only 25pesos for a return trip!
